Do you ever suddenly feel a little down, sad, irritable or angry for no reason? I do. As a Certified Nutritionist (my former career), I know how to eat healthy and that I have to exercise and get enough rest and sunshine. And I do all those things but sometimes I need more. I need a ‘happy shot’ from the Holy Spirit. I need to remind myself whose I am and what my inheritance is because of who He is. At times like these, this is what I tell myself and I encourage you to tell yourself the same thing by reading this out loud – not only when you are down, but every day.

I receive God’s goodness today.

I receive God’s favor today.

I receive God’s mercy today.

I receive God’s forgiveness today.

I receive God’s love today.

I receive God’s love today.

I receive God’s health today.

I receive God’s blessings today.

I receive God’s leading today.

I receive God’s protection today.

I receive God’s plans and purposes for me today.

I receive God’s abundance today.

I receive God’s kindness today.

I receive God’s wisdom today.

I receive God’s creativity today.

I receive God’s anointing today.

I receive God’s strength and might today.

I receive God’s victory today.

I receive God’s joy today.

I receive God’s inspiration today.

I receive God’s hope today.

I receive God’s wholeness today.

I receive God’s encouragement today.

I receive Holy Spirit’s super-abundance today.

I receive Holy Spirit’s comfort today.

I receive Jesus’ confidence today.

All of the above statements are based on verses I’ve read during my devotion times in the morning. As I find a new one, I add it to my list.

I actually chose to write this blog because I was feeling down, sad, irritable and angry for absolutely no reason at all…and I feel better just for writing it and sharing it with you.

Sometimes the enemy sneaks up on us and tries to push, or pull, us off course. He reminds us of our past or forecasts fear for the future. We can’t do anything about the past except forgive others and/or ourselves (usual reasons for feeling sad about the past) but we can do something about right now – the present – which will affect our future. Reminding yourself and receiving what God has for you right now in this moment is a great place to start.

Writefully yours,

Angela
