“It is through my union with Jesus Christ, that I enjoy an enthusiasm and confidence in my ministry for God, and I will not be presumptuous to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me.”
Romans 15:17 (The Passion Translation)
You, as a Christian author, are fufilling your ministry for God. Perhaps being a Christian author is not the entirety of your ministry, but it is a part – and an important part. Why? Because you are sharing with others what Christ has accomplished through you.
As an author, you can write about anything you want to write about. The most powerful writing, though, comes from personal experience. You have challenges in your life you’ve overcome with Jesus’ help. You have victory stories. You have struggles that were a process and you probably have miraculous events, too.
Your relationship with Jesus is what gives you the enthusiasm and confidence you need to write your stories down, to share your life’s lessons and to be vulnerable enough to minister to others – and writing honestly does require a fair bit of humility and vulnerability. I’ve never learned a lesson from anyone who has not experienced the same thing I am experiencing. Scripture even tells us that Jesus experienced everything we’ve experienced yet He was without sin.
So, my friend, what has Jesus accomplished through you? Write it.
