In Romans 15:4, Paul tells us that ‘the scriptures impart to us encouragement and inspiration so we can live in hope and endure all things”. (The Passion Translation). That’s what I like to read – how the good win…the underdog wins…the deserving get the reward…and the underserving (grace).

We bought a new car in August and with it came 3 months of a Sirius subscription. We quickly found the Christian radio station (63) but after listening to the same music over and over (40+ hours of driving) we decided to look for a Christian podcast or station. The only one we found that sounded familiar to us was Joel Osteen’s station (128) so we started listening to his messages. We LOVE them! Why? Because he encourages and inspires us to live our best life, forget the past, focus on the future, and trust God with every detail of our life. Joel Osteen believes…as children of God, we are overcomers and more than conquerors and God intends for each of us to experience the abundant life He has in store for us.

Listening to Joel’s messages are addicting. We keep coming back for more for the same reason I keep coming back to my Bible – I am encouraged and inspired. These are the same reasons people will keep coming back to your writings.

In one of Joel’s messages, he mentions that he’s been accused of not preaching deep theological messages. His response is that God has given him a message of hope to share with the world and until he is told otherwise he will continue to preach hope. I love that and it is obvious others do, too, as over 52,000 people attend his church each week.

As a Christian author, you hold the Hope of the world inside you. You have the word of encouragement they need to hear. His-story of redemption in your life will touch someone else to encourage and inspire them to keep moving forward, forgive and forget the past, and trust God with their future. And only you can tell your story.

I encourage you to begin writing down the stories of redemption in your life. How has God transformed you? A situation in your life? Your family? Your work situation? Your business? Your story is the inspiration for someone else’s victory in life. Write it.

Writefully yours,

Angela
